Will BRICS Gold be the next global currency?

In August the BRICS nations (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) are meeting. This trading partnership has at least two items on the agenda — supposedly forty-one countries are looking to join the BRICS league. And Russia appears to be saying that a gold backed currency will be introduced for trading. If this proves true, it could impact the use of the US dollar as a reserve currency in a major way.
